High-pressure laminates, being one of the most durable decorative surface material has several usages. They are being used extensively for countertops, tabletops, cabinets, furniture, paneling, flooring, etc. in the commercial as well as housing spaces. Today with technological advancement, special customized laminates are also being manufactured to match special / specific requirements.

Apart from aesthetic appeal HPL also increases the durability of the surfaces by making them robust and resistant to wear & tear. However the choice of laminate should be made keeping the requirement of the surface application in mind.

HPL are manufactured for specific applications and performance and are available in different varieties/finishes:

These are the most commonly used finishes for general usage laminates. They can be used for both horizontal and vertical surfaces. The usual thickness of these laminates ranges from 0.6mm to 1.00 mm. These laminates are best suited for places that require surfaces which are functional, durable and have aesthetic appeal like kitchen counter tops and work surfaces etc.

This finish has glossy impact on the surface which translates a shinning to the spaces. It is mostly used in kitchens, showrooms, pubs etc.

These Laminates have their own aesthetic appeal as they have surfaces with different types of textures. They are ideal for vertical surfaces that have minimal impact and wear and tear such as walls. Due to their low resistance to surface wear and scratching, they can also be used as end panels for cabinets, etc. These types of laminates are specifically manufactured for creative visual appeal.

Fire retardant laminates are manufactured for interior applications that require decorative surfaces which are resistant to flames and smoke. Apart from kitchens, these laminates are used in airports, hotels, shopping malls, multiplexes, etc.

While these laminates are not very often used for residential spaces, they are commonly used in restroom doors, industrial facilities, and even maritime interiors.

As the name suggests, these laminates have the property of resisting common chemicals, making them best-suited for use in hospitals, labs and surfaces which are exposed to a lot of chemicals or cleaning agents.

Exterior Grade Laminates are used for external wall claddings of building facades. These laminates can withstand heat, humidity, water etc

Post Forming laminates are specially made for surfaces which do not have straight edges. They are compatible with bending process under heat in post forming machine. They are generally available in 0.6mm thickness. Edges for counters, desks, cabinet doors, drawer panels etc. are popular uses of this type of laminate which require rounded edge.

These laminates are manufactured specially for furniture inners. Now days they are used in a major way as replacement of painted surfaces in the interiors. They are generally available in thicknesses of 0.5mm to 0.7mm
